Worship Services – 150 Years of Letting Love Flow

February 13th at 10:45 AM

Step back in time with us on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at 10:45 am, and experience a worship service as it was 70 years ago when the service was broadcast live over the radio on WJMJ. Please join us in person or on Zoom if you are not able to attend on that day. It will be an experience you will not want to miss!

The service always began with the hymn, “Holy, Holy, Holy”, so listeners would know they had the correct station. Pastor David will deliver the sermon on February 13, and three current members who were members at the Baptist Temple on Broad Street will briefly reflect on their experiences. We will use artifacts from Baptist Temple during the worship service and a commemorative wood sculpture created by our own Patrick Rodgers will be unveiled.

The 150th Anniversary Committee has planned many events where we can enjoy and learn about our heritage as we plan for our future. Our church began February 12, 1872, with fifty members as a mission of another church in Philadelphia. February will be Grace/BT History month. More information about the month will be communicated soon.

April 30-May 1, 2022 will be a weekend of celebration. Please put these dates and February 12 on your calendar.

If you want 150th Anniversary commemorative items, canvas bags, cups, and Christ-mas ornaments are offered for sale. Look for the order forms in church emails, on our website, and our Facebook page, if you are unable to come to church. Order forms are available at the Welcome Center if you are worshiping in person.

We look forward to seeing current and former members at these upcoming events. Join the celebration!
