Hurricane Sandy
It’s been a difficult week for many people in our country, especially along the East Coast. Hurricane Sandy has had a devastating impact in places like New York City and the Jersey Shore. As I write, there are many thousands if not millions of people still managing their lives without electricity and without the usual services to which they’ve grown accustomed. Many homes have been destroyed and as many as 50 people have tragically lost their lives. It’s been a heartbreaking disaster of epic proportions and even now the storm continues to rage as it moves northward.
For that reason, I’ve decided to postpone my Stewardship message for this Sunday. Instead I’ll be focusing on The 24-7-365 God…a God who is with us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year…a God who is with us in the midst of life’s storms. I hope you’ll join us this Sunday as we gather to pray for the victim’s families and all those who have been adversely affected by Hurricane Sandy.
On a much lighter note, I hope you’ll join us this Saturday evening at 7 P.M. for Sinatra and Friends. Our choir has been working very hard to make this a very enjoyable and memorable night and you won’t want to miss it!
2012 World Mission Offering – Thank you for your generous gifts to the WMO. Gifts to date total $2,060 toward our goal of $2,500. This offering is officially over, but if you haven’t had a chance to give yet, we invite you to help us reach our goal.
See you in church Sunday…and Saturday for Sinatra and Friends!
