Dear Friends,

Our Mission Day, last Sunday, was a great success! Thank you to Betty Helpa and the Board of Missions who organized the day’s activities and helped us all to gain a better understanding of the mission work we’re involved in. Barbara Bolick, our missionary to Chile, preached a wonderful message and the Missions Fair after worship was a great blessing. Thank you also to our youth group who provided the delicious luncheon.

This Sunday our special guest preacher will be Rev. Abbie Huff. Abbie grew up in Grace Baptist Church of Blue Bell and in 2010 she was ordained in our sanctuary. Abbie is currently the Spiritual Leader for the Nyack Project, a ministry that is focused on building community outside the walls of the church. She will speak on the subject, “What Comes to Meet Us”, based on Acts 11:1-18.

We extend our Christian sympathy to Patrice Erik and her family on the passing of her husband, John. Relatives and friends may call between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale. A second visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 19 at First Baptist Church of Lansdale, 700 N. Broad St., Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Grace Baptist Church of Blue Bell, P. O. Box 122, Blue Bell, PA 19422. Please keep Patrice, Stephanie, Michael and the whole family in your prayers.

I will be away this Sunday speaking at my former church’s 125th anniversary in Collingswood, NJ. Have a wonderful Sunday and I’ll see you all on September 28.
