Grace Baptist Update – August 5, 2016

We extend our Christian sympathy to Jill Rhea and her entire family in the passing of her mother, Isabel Lehman, on August 4.  Isabel’s death was unexpected and has deeply saddened many people, especially those closest to her.  Please keep the family in your prayers.  There will be a memorial service for Isabel here at Grace on Saturday, August 13 at 11:00 A.M.  The service will be preceded by a visitation hour beginning at 10:00 A.M.

This Sunday I’ll be sharing a special Communion message, “Humble Penitence.”  We will be focusing on the words of Paul in 1 Corinthians 11:27-28: “Whoever therefore eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord.  Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup.”  I pray that we will all have a very meaningful experience at the Lord’s Table this Sunday.

Many thanks to Doug Hargis for filling in for me last Sunday morning.  Amy and I enjoyed a week of vacation and a few days in Niagara Falls.  I look forward to worshipping with you again this Sunday!

See You in Church,

Pastor George
