From the Pastor — January 14, 2016

Dear Friends,

This Sunday I’ll begin a three part message series entitled “Sharing Our Faith.”  In a day when the majority of churches in our country are on a plateau or are in decline, this timely series will challenge all of us to influence the people around us for Christ…especially those who are unchurched or who are far from God.

The Next Pastor’s Welcome Class will be held this SundayJanuary 17 at 9:45 A.M. in the pastor’s office.  This class is open to anyone who is interested in membership or anyone who is new to Grace and would like to learn more about our church.

Gifts to the Retired Ministers and Missionaries Offering will continue throughout the month of January.  Our church goal is $2,500.00 and to date we have received $1,090.00.  An offering envelope is included in the January newsletter with extras available at the Welcome Center and in chair backs.

Congratulations to Chris Lister who unanimously passed his Ordination Council this past Tuesday.  Copies of his ordination paper are available at the Welcome Center for you to pick up and read.  Chris’s ordination service is scheduled for Sunday, January 24, at 4:00 P.M.  The Rev. Dr. Tony Campolo will bring the ordination message.  All are welcome.

The Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Service of Remembrance will be held this Sunday at Bethlehem Baptist Church (712 Penllyn Pike, Spring House) at 4:00 P.M.  The service honors Dr. King as well as those slain in Charleston, SC, and in synagogues, mosques and other houses of worship.  Hosts are Bethlehem Baptist Church, Salem Baptist Church (Jenkintown), and the Wissahickon Faith Community Association.

See You in Church,

Pastor George
