Grace Baptist Update – June 9, 2016

Dear Friends,

Thank you to all who made Children’s Day a great success here at Grace last Sunday.  The kids all did a wonderful job and the entire service was a great experience.  We are blessed to have a growing number of children in our church and last Sunday’s service illustrated just how important they are!  We are also fortunate to have a great staff of teachers and volunteers who give so much of their time and talents.   A special thanks to Casey Brookes for her leadership and Gene Stremme for the incredible music.

This Sunday, June 12, is the last day of Sunday School until September.  Beginning on June 19 (Father’s Day) we will begin our summer schedule.  Worship will begin at 9:30 A.M. and Graceland will be held during worship.  I’ll be speaking this week on the subject, “SHMILY,” based on John 16:12-15.  If you don’t know what SHMILY means (no it’s not Greek!) come and find out.

Also, this Sunday is the last Youth Group lunch outing of the school year.  Meet Kristin right after church and you’ll be leaving for lunch at 12:30 P.M.

Chris Lister will candidate this Sunday to become the pastor of an American Baptist Church in Springfield, Massachusetts.  Please keep Chris and the church in your prayers as they make this very important decision.  Also, Chris is still in need of used blankets to pack his furniture and possessions in when he moves to Springfield.  All blankets used will be donated to those in need after the move.

See You in Church,

Pastor George
