From the Pastor — March 23, 2017

Dear Friends,

We are getting closer to Easter as we celebrate the fourth Sunday in Lent this weekend.  I’ll be continuing my series of messages, “Help for Troubled Hearts from the Psalms.”  This week’s installment is “Expect the Unexpected,” based on the familiar words of the 23rd Psalm.  Special music will be provided by our Sanctuary Choir and Bell Choir.

The deadline for our America for Christ Offering is this Sunday!  Our total now stands at $1,375.  We still have a ways to go to reach our goal of $2,675.  Please consider giving this week to help support home missions across the United States and Puerto Rico.  Envelopes are included in the March newsletter, available at the Welcome Center, and placed in sanctuary chair backs.  Thank you!

There are still a few copies of two different Lenten devotionals available at the Welcome center.  It’s not too late to pick one up and begin using it to enhance your Lenten preparations.

Our Youth Group will enjoy an Adventure Hike and Picnic at Wissahickon Valley Park this Sunday, March 26, 12:00-4:00 P.M.

Don’t forget to order your Easter Flowers!  Order forms have been placed in your mailboxes and at the Welcome Center.  You may also call to church office with your order.  The deadline for ordering flowers is this Sunday, March 26.

Save the date!  Plan to join us on Maundy Thursday at 6:30 P.M. for our Sacrificial Supper and Communion Service.  This very special evening of fellowship and worship is for the whole family.  Sign up this Sunday!

Mark your April Calendars:

  • Our annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 15 staring at 10:30 A.M.  We are still collecting individually wrapped candy, small toys, stickers, etc.  There is a bin in the narthex for your donations.
  • Our Annual Spring Flea Market is scheduled for April 29, 8:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M.  We will begin collecting your “treasures” on Sunday, April 2.

See You in Church,

Pastor George
