Dear Friends,

Last weekend we held our Faith in Action Celebration Sunday.  Thank you Betty Helpa for your leadership and for giving us an overview of all the amazing projects of this year’s effort.  Thank you to Doug Hargis for his update on our Be the Match effort.  We are still accepting donations to fund this important project.  Thank you also to Kristin Paluszka for the wonderful video highlighting all the evens of Faith in Action.  Above all, thank you to all our volunteers, young and old, for making it another great weekend of service to our community.

This Sunday I’ll continue my sermon series, “Beyond the Doors” with a message entitled, “The Door of Forgiveness.”  To be sure, forgiveness is something to be shared as well as received.  Join us as we take a closer look at this subject so vital to our Christian lives.

Congratulations to Obed Arango who recently received two very prestigious awards related to his work as Executive Director of CCATE (Centro de Arte Cultura, Trabajo y Educación).  On October 3 Obed received the 2015 Futuro Award, Education Champion of the Year, at the Hispanic Choice Awards in Philadelphia.  On October 5 Obed also received the Dr. Orlando Costas service award from Eastern University’s Palmer Seminary.  You can read more about these important achievements and the vital work that Obed is doing through CCATE in our next issue of Grace Notes.  We are proud of you Obed!

Our World Mission Offering goal is $2500.  So, please give this weekend!  Every donation helps.  Offering envelopes were placed in the October newsletter and are available at the Welcome Center and in the chair racks in the Sanctuary.  Thank you for your generosity and your participation in this vital offering that touches the lives of so many.
