From the Pastor — September 17, 2015

Dear Friends,

Thanks to who helped to make our Rally Day last Sunday a great success.  The breakfast was delicious and the fellowship was wonderful.  Please note that we have returned to our regular Sunday schedule with SundaySchool at 9:30 A.M. and Worship at 10:45 A.M.

This Sunday I’ll continue my sermon series, “Beyond the Doors”, with a message entitled “The Door of Service.”  We were born to serve.  “Serve the Lord with gladness,” the Bible says.  This leads to the next announcement…

Sunday, September 27th is Faith In Action Day.  There will be no worship service that day.

Instead, you’re invited to participate in one of seven community projects that we’re sponsoring this year.  Sign-up sheets are in the Narthex and we hope you’ll join us for this important day!

The Diaconate is planning a new pictorial church directory.  Color pictures are still being accepted electronically and photos will also be made at church on Sunday mornings upon request.  Also, please send any address, email and telephone changes to the church office so that all information is up to date.  Our goal is to publish the new directory by the end of 2015.  Thanks for your help with this important endeavor.

A year-long Bible study for adults begins this Sunday morning.  Rev. Doug Hargis will lead the study, “On the Origins of Faith”, beginning at 9:30 A.M. in the sanctuary.  Please join us for this sweeping overview of what the Bible has to say about faith.

A Look Ahead…

A new six-week class for parents and soon-to-be parents of teens begins on Sunday, October 4 at 9:30 A.M.  The class will center on Dr. Gary Chapman’s “five love languages.”  Parents, feel free to invite friends you think would enjoy the class.

See you Sunday,

Pastor George
