From the Pastor — September 21, 2017

Dear Friends,

This Sunday is your last chance to sign up for a Faith in Action project.  As always, we have many wonderful opportunities for ministry in our community lined up for that day.  If you haven’t done so, please check out the descriptions of each ministry opportunity in this Sunday’s bulletin and then sign up at the table in the church lobby.  It is our hope and prayer Faith in Action (October 1) will be another great success as we reach out to our community and seek to make a difference for Jesus Christ.

This Sunday I’ll be sharing a message entitled “Tragedy and Triumph in response to recent natural disasters that have devastated so many lives.  At such times as these the questions arise…”Why?”  “How could God allow such a thing?”  Join us this Sunday as we wrestle with those questions and others.

This Sunday, regular Sunday School classes continue for all ages.  For adults, all are invited to attend one of the two electives being offered:

  • The Wired Word class will be back in the boardroom.  This group explores a wide range of topics taken from the news and uses biblical texts to explore these challenging situations.  Class leaders: Cliff and Monét Dobrovolec
  • Study of the book, “Victory Over the Darkness”, by Neil Anderson.  The class will focus on discovering who you are in Christ and realizing the power of your true identity.  Class leaders: Ryan and Melissa Flack

The proposed bylaws changes were approved at the congregational meeting last Sunday morning.  Thanks to everyone who was able to attend.  Copies of the updated constitution and bylaws will be available in the church office in the near future.

The new church sign is installed but due to some technical issues is not yet fully operational.  We hope to have it up and running in the very near future and serving as a valuable tool to reach out to the community.

See You in Church,

Pastor George
