Pastor’s Column (June Newsletter)

Dear Friends,

The summer season will soon be upon us which, of course, will spell a few changes here at Grace. The biggest occurs on Father’ Day, June 19 (by the way, Happy Father’s Day, dads!). That’s the day we begin our summer worship schedule. Our services will begin at 9:30 A.M. instead of 10:45 A.M. In addition, it means that there will be no hour of Sunday School before worship. With that in mind, I want to use my column this month to say Thank You to some of our unsung heroes here at Grace—our Sunday School (Graceland) teachers.

Thank you for being a part of our Adult and Children’s Sunday School staff.

Thank you for spending your precious time to prepare your lessons, visuals and extras to make your class very special to your students.

Thank you for the extra things you do: following up with your students outside of class, praying for them, studying, and caring.

Thank you for being an example for your students to follow.

You are an inspiration to me and to others in our church.

While Sunday School will soon be coming to an end (till September), our Graceland Second Hour program will continue throughout the summer months. Therefore, we need volunteers to be available to work with our kids during worship.

I noticed today that the Summer Graceland Second Hour Schedule, posted at our Welcome Center, has just one of the 12 slots filled so far. It would be nice if we could give our regular teachers a little vacation from teaching (although we won’t turn anyone away!). So, we need your help, and our children need your love and care. Please consider signing up soon and help ensure that our Graceland program will continue to be a blessing throughout the summer months.

Just sign up at the Welcome Center or see Casey Brookes.

Thank you and God Bless,

Pastor George
